FPS Training Zone Released!
That’s right! FPS Training Zone has been released. Am I excited? Yes I am.
FPS Training Zone is a simple trainer for First Person Shooter games. Chase the target, try to hit it, improve your hand-eye coordination and tracking skills, and hopefully have some fun in the process. Check out some screenshots here.
Did I mention it’s free?

2012/06/24 13:49Hello could I ask you for something? I really love the music and the sounds in this game, so can I ask for sending the music and sounds to my email? Thank you very much and good luck by developing new games ☺

I made the music in GarageBand. It has a pretty nice interface and you can use your computer keyboard as a midi keyboard, which is fun to play around with and use to develop some catchy riffs. The piano roll makes it really easy to tweak your notes until you find something you’re happy with. There’s plenty of stuff on youtube about GarageBand and composing music.
The sfx were generated with FM synthesis. Again, the key is to experiment until you find something you’re happy with. Csound and PureData are two tools you could use to do this, but I ended up rolling my own. The single most important parameter in sound synthesis is the envelope. If you want a good tool to play around with some simple synthesis, then I suggest giving TweakyBeat a try.
